Meet the Management Team


Managing Director

Tony Hayre   MSc MWeldI IEng MInstNDT 

Tony has an MSc in Weld Engineering from Cranfield University, and is also a Certified International and European Welding Engineer (IWE/EWE).  His achievements and work in the industry has seen him gain status as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) with the Engineering Council.  Tony also holds CSWIP and PCN qualifications in welding and weld inspection.

His experience is extensive, and for many years he managed the Fuel Route Welding and Inspection Project at Dungeness B Nuclear Power Station, overseeing the return to service of Fuel Plug Units.  He is still active in the nuclear industry, as a 3rd party auditor.

Tony now leads the company's BS EN 1090 (CE Marking of Structural Steel Products) implementation process, as well as acting as a sub-contract Responsible Welding Coordinator for numerous customers. Within this role he aids the implementation of the Welding Quality Management System (WQMS) in accordance with ISO 3834, and ensures adherence to all other associated standards.


HSEQ Manager

Kevin Hayre   BA (Hons) Business EngTech GInstNDT NEBOSH

Kevin maintains the company's quality, health and safety, and environmental systems, ensuring that the policies in place are upheld at all times.  His attention to detail has seen the company achieve and maintain its ISO 9001 and Achilles accreditation's.

He also has extensive NDT experience, carrying out inspections in the structural/construction, heating and ventilating, and nuclear industries.  Kevin holds CSWIP and PCN qualifications in weld inspection (including Level 3 qualifications).


Operations Manager
Gary Hayre   BEng (Hons) IWE AWeldI EngTech GInstNDT

Gary is an International and European Welding Engineer (IWE/EWE), and also holds PCN and CSWIP qualifications in weld (conventional and specialist methods) and welding inspection .

He has accrued valuable experience managing various projects in the structural/construction, heating and ventilating, and nuclear industries, which he uses extensively to ensure Structural and Weld Testing Services Ltd's customers receive the highest quality service at all times.

Gary controls the company's inspection related activities, maintaining the approved procedures, equipment, and personnel qualifications, so that Structural and Weld Testing Services Ltd is always able to meet current and future demands.



Level 3 Services Manager

Daniel Smith   IWS TechWeldI EngTech GInstNDT

Daniel is an International and European Welding Specialist, and also holds CSWIP and PCN qualifications in welding and weld inspection (conventional and specialist methods), including at Level 3.  Daniel maintains our level 3 inspection procedures, and controls the company's level 3 services.

Daniel has extensive knowledge of welding and inspection activities for the structural/construction, heating and ventilating, and nuclear industries.
