Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC)

Structural and Weld Testing Services Ltd's welding engineers can provide the role of a Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) for individual project/contract requirements, and longer term as part of your UKCA Marking accreditation.

Our experienced and qualified Welding Specialists, Technologists and Engineers (I/EWS, I/EWT, I/EWE) are available to fulfill this role within your organisation on a subcontract basis, therefore fulfilling the specific knowledge requirements of responsible welding coordinating personnel as stated in EN ISO 14731:2006 section 6.2 and annex A.

We can provide this service up to and including Execution Class 4, to meet the requirements of BS EN 1090 (UKCA Marking of Structural Steelwork).

We continue to supply this service to many of our customers who have successfully gone on to achieve and maintain their UKCA Marking certification.

As part of the role, we ensure that your Welding Procedure Qualification Records, Welding Procedure Specifications, and Welder Qualifications are inline to the relevant BS EN ISO standards, and importantly, valid to what you are manufacturing.

Furthermore, we are able to provide an RWC statement on your behalf, confirming that adequate documentation, skills and technical support are in place to fulfil the fabrication and welding requirements. These statements are frequently requested by main contractors.

If you would like to discuss the Responsible Welding Coordinator role with one of our Welding Engineers, then please do not hesitate to contact us as they will be happy to assist with your enquiry.
