Welding Procedures & Welder Approvals



Structural and Weld Testing Services Ltd have highly experienced and CSWIP qualified inspectors available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to perform UKAS approved witnessing and certification of welding procedures and welder qualifications.  We are also full members of the Safety Assessment Federation.  Together with our UKAS accreditation's, this membership ensures International acceptance of our Welding Inspection and Personnel Certification via Mutual Recognition Arrangements involving the TIC Council (previously CEOC), and ILAC.

 
                                                                                                                                                                                    


Welding procedures and welder qualification tests can be carried out in accordance with the standard of your choice, which commonly include:

- BS EN ISO 9606 series
- BS EN ISO 15614 series
- BS EN ISO 15613
- BS EN ISO 17660
- BS 4872
- ASME IX

Does your work involve Pressure Equipment?

If so, Structural and Weld Testing Services Ltd is recognised as a Recognised Third Party Organisation (RTPO) under the 
Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations. 2016, Schedule 2 paragraph 21, for the approval of witnessing and certification of welding procedures and welder tests.  This approval relates to Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and is awarded by the Government Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
Furthermore, if your welding procedures and welder tests documents also needs to comply with the EU's Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), then we can confirm that Structural and Weld Testing Services Ltd has established an agreement with an EU recognised RTPO for the joint endorsement of our certification.
                                                                                                                                                                                                 
Do any of your welders require CSCS cards?

Due to the level of accreditation held by Structural and Weld Testing Services Ltd, the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) has granted us approval to issue SKILLED WORKER - QUALIFIED WELDER cards containing the CSCS logo.  To verify this approval, please see

This CSCS card will permit your welders access to construction sites, and there is no need to complete a lengthy and expensive NVQ!  Call one of our Welding Engineers for details.

Structural and Weld Testing Services Ltd's scope of UKAS laboratory accreditation can be found at https://www.ukas.com/find-an-organisation/ , and is available on request.
Any destructive testing outside of this scope, or Structural and Weld Testing Services Ltd's own non-UKAS capabilities and procedures, will be subcontracted to another laboratory listed on our approved suppliers list.
As an Inspection and Certification body, Structural and Weld Testing Services Ltd recognises and understands the importance of impartiality and objectivity when carrying out its inspection and certification activities.
